COMMISSIONS
I love painting custom paintings for art lovers whether it be vibrant botanicals or dramatic local landscapes. My style is very expressive and colourful. I adore working with a client to create something super special for their home or work.
What does it mean to commission a piece of art?
Unlike buying off the shelf from my originals, you get to choose and work with me in a tailored collaboration. I feel very honoured to be working with a client to create something super special for their home or work.
What can you paint for me?
Once you have looked through examples of my work on Facebook or Instagram you will get a feel for the style I enjoy painting which is vibrant, expressive with a a bold yet soft colour palette. I adore the beauty of local landscapes in our former home of the South Island of New Zealand and local seascapes of southwest Victoria, Australia. I would love to work with you to paint your favourite coastal, countryside and mountain landscape scene wherever that might be!
How does it work?
We would book a time for an initial chat over video chat. That way, you can look through examples of work available to buy. You can tell me what you l like, what your thoughts are and if you have reference photos that is super helpful!
How do I choose size?
The easiest way to find the ideal sized painting is to measure your space and tape the dimensions of the painting you are considering.
Will you create an initial sketch of the commission for me?
No. My process is quite intuitive, and based on this open process, enables me to create a piece that works for you taking into account your choices around subject, composition, scale and colour palette. All of this information combined allows me to bring our vision to life. I will update you with photos along the way, and this will enable you to make colour changes and small composition changes. Once the work is finished, the piece will be dated and signed, front and back and matt varnished.
How much will it be to ship my painting?
Delivery is free anywhere in Australia for size up to 300 x 400. For anything larger and all overseas delivery, I will arrange the courier and will advise on the best rates. As with any overseas purchase, you may be charged local tax and duty charges.
How long will it take?
It depends on the size and complexity of the piece, along with the current commission schedule. If you need it by a particular date, please advise during our initial chat.
Can I offer this as a gift?
Yes, I work with groups for surprise wedding presents, anniversary presents and Birthday gifts.
Do you accept refunds or returns?
No refunds or exchanges on any paintings unless the item is damaged in shipping ( must show proof of damage). See refunds policy.
How much will it cost?
Acrylic commissions on canvas and timber frames start at $600 ( 300 x 400 x 35 ) depending on size and complexity.
When do I need to arrange payment?
You are required to pay 40% upon signing the booking form and invoice. The balance is due upon completion.
Is the artwork framed?
I can arrange for your commission to be framed in Tasmanian oak if you are locale. The art is created on a heavy duty pine frame, with duck cotton canvas and has painted sides which can be hung as is.
